Hotel Las Cuevas is a large complex of 114 rooms built in 1956 on a hill that overlooks the city of Trinidad and the Caribbean Sea.
Location is good because of the pleasant views and because it’s only a few minute walk downtown; but the hill is very steep, path and steps are not well paved and at night it is poorly lit hence not a good option for everyone.
The rooms are in concrete prefab bungalows that are scattered about nice grounds. They are small and basic with simply rattan and bamboo furniture; but they are clean, have been recently renovated and bathrooms have new features.
There is a round pool (perfect for refreshing after walking in the heat of the city), a tennis court, an underground cave disco, live shows at nights + a restaurants and two bars.
