Five kilometers west of Trinidad a turnoff from the coast road leads north and begins to climb into the Sierra del Escambray. At the heart of the Sierra is the refreshing Topes de Collantes.
The park is divided into sections : Parque El Nicho, Parque Guanayara, Parque el Cordina, Parque Vegas Grandes and so on with el Nicho being one of the favorites for its incredibly beautiful waterfalls and lagoons. One of the most popular trails leads to Salto de Caburní, a 75 meter high waterfall.
Other trails lead to caves, cascades, natural pools, bird watching areas, hiking escapes and more.
