Porto Santo is a two-story 83 room hotel standing on the west side of the bay of Baracoa.
The location is really nice since the hotel is surrounded by mountains and forest on one side, and the crystal clear blue sea on the other.
It is 2km away from Baracoa but there are always taxis and bici-taxis available.
The building is quite old, but nicely furnished. It features a cute private cove beach and a large lake-shape swimming pool with a deck and thatched-roof bar overlooking the bay.
There is a replica of Cruz de Parra at the beach, at the place where Christopher Columbuss supposedly put the original one back in 1492.
Rooms are humbly appointed, kind of tired and feature rather small bathrooms. All offer a balcony or terrace with really nice views to the bay or gardens, though.
Food is not great but it is OK, and guests can always visit a paladar (private restaurants) in the city.
In the reception there is one shop selling water, sodas, chips, cookies...very convienient since the walk to town is pretty long.
Medical services are offered from 8 to 23 hrs, only for first aid. International Clinic is 3 Km away.
All in all, an economical hotel offering no luxuries but a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere surrounded by a beautiful scenario.
