Club Karey is an all-inclusive beachfront resort situated at the beginning of Varadero, far from where most hotels are and about 15-20 minute walk to downtown.

Accommodation is composed by a series of villas set right off the beach ( most of them), so one can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. This, together with the beautiful strip of beach, would be the hotel’s main attributes. Rooms, although very spacious, need to be updated (as well as the rest of the hotel).

Food and entertainment is nothing to write home about, but one would certainly not starve, and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and discos in Varadero.

In summary: if one is on a moderate budget but still wants to get to know Cuba, its people and beaches, this is an Ok place to stay ; but if one is expecting the traditional resort, which includes some luxuries, then this is not the right place for your holidays.

Tips: Bring little snacks for the evenings and check one or some of the many available excursions at the tour desk: swimming with dolphins, day in Havana, etc.
