Sian Ka'an (Where the sky is born) is the largest natural reserve in the Riviera Maya with 500 thousand hectares that combine mangroves, cenotes, jungle, beaches and dunes, being home to a great variety of animals and plants, so it was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1987.
In the reserve you will find numerous places to visit such as its 23 archaeological sites, highlighting the ruins of Muyil, Chenchomac, Tampak and El Plantal, among others; the huge Chunyaxché lagoon, the Labnaha underground caverns and numerous cenotes, some connected by underground rivers.
You can also do different activities such as renting kayaks, taking a boat ride through the Caapechen lagoon and practicing diving and snorkeling to get to know the coral reefs. There are several beautiful virgin and semi-virgin beaches, all of which will be a great pleasure to swim in.
Inside Sian Kaan, you will find the small fishing village of Punta Allen, and here you can travel by boat through the Caribbean Sea, observing different species such as dolphins and turtles in their habitat while enjoying the great natural beauty of the place. You can also find hotels and cabins for your lodging.
