This park was the meeting place of the founders of Playa del Carmen when it was just a fishing village in the 1950s, making it one of the main historical sites in the city.
Currently it is the venue for important cultural and social celebrations such as festivals, musical shows and pre-Hispanic dance performances, being the Papantla flyers show of great popularity.
In this park we find the Portal Maya, an iconic Mayan sculpture of Playa del Carmen, a work made in bronze with an imposing height of 16 meters, two human figures holding hands and forming a great arch, of great beauty and symbolism. At night you can enjoy a beautiful light show around it.
In the Parque Fundadores you can find the famous letters of Playa del Carmen and take your souvenir photo.
