Encanto Royalton is a charming yet budget hotel that stands facing Parque Céspedes, in Bayamo's historic core.
Built in the 1940's it reopened in May 2010 after being totally and tastefully restored.
There's a lovely bar in the lobby and a very nice terrace overlooking the square, perfect to watch the world go by while enjoying a coffee or a mojito.
Rooms are clean and comfortable although fairly small. Some overlook the town's pedestrianized square, which makes them far more interesting but also noisier.
Downsides: The hotel features no lift, and despite the fact that wifi is available at the lobby one will probably have to purchase a card at ETECSA (telephone company), since it's very likely the hotel won't provide for them. Breakfast is nothing to write home about.
It is still the best option in Bayamo, a very cozy hotel that is perfectly appointed to explore this cute little town, very near its restaurants, bars, the Casa de la Trova and all the key sites.
