Hotel Kohly stands on the top of a hill in a quiet, eponymous residential area very near Havana Forest- El Bosque de la Habana-, a huge park of exuberant vegetation.
It's not centrally located but it's easy to grab a taxi to go downtown, and some guests could appreciate being away from the hustle and bustle of Old Havana.
Now, it is not a very attractive hotel, architecture dates from the Soviet era, rooms are basic and worn and no lavish amenities should be expected.
Food isn’t great either and the gym is definitely dated. Best feature is probably the pool, nice although also in need of some care and attention.
All these flaws could probably be compensated with a friendly, courteous staff (most guests agree they are so) and an economic price, the latter unfortunately not the case.
Hotel Kohly features as well a bowling room near the pool, which is very popular among locals. Also a cyber cafe and Wi-Fi in the lobby.
