Located on a hill and offering breathtaking views of the Hanabanilla Lake stands this hotel exemplifying soviet-influenced architecture, with 125 rooms, great swimming pool and attentive staff.
Being right in the Escambray Mountains, the main mountain range in the middle of the island, there is much to do for nature lovers: fishing, trekking, bird watching…There is also a wide variety of reptiles, mammals and the country’s largest trout species (Big Mouth Back Bass) are also to be found in the big man-made lake.
Since not so many tourists come here the hotel has a very peaceful environment. The pool is strategically set to take advantage of the magnificent surroundings, featuring wonderful views of the lake, a bar + many lounges.
Rooms are clean though pretty simple and isolation between them is not too good so one can hear the neighbors in the adjacent rooms. Their best feature is certainly the views of the lake and the beautiful mountains, even more spectacular from the top floors.
Breakfast and food in general are average and the restaurant is not precisely charming, but it is possible to visit the nearby town, day or night, for more culinary options.
