The Hotel Colón by Meliá is located in a two-story colonial building in the Historic Center of the city of Camagüey, declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 2010.
It turns out to be a very cozy accommodation and has served as a hotel since 1926. Its location allows visitors to access to the main sites of interest.
The recently restored property welcomes guests into a beautiful lobby with high ceilings, colonial tile floors, and elegant furnishings. The precious woods used in the bar and other works stand out, as well as the marble stairs that lead to the rooms (there is no elevator).
In the center there is a fresh and pleasant inner courtyard that adds charm to the hotel. The atmosphere is calm and the staff very attentive and friendly.
The rooms (58) are very clean with colorful tiled floors and elegantly decorated. Some are rather small and some are interior (no windows). Most of them overlook the nice open-air colonial patio and there are spacious and nice rooms too. All offering the comfort of modern accommodation.
Its restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and diner service and it also features two bars.
All in all, an excellently located hotel, perfect to explore the city of Camagüey, which overflows charm and charisma.
Recommended for tour groups, honeymoons, cultural and heritage tourism.
