The hotel Brisas Sierra Mar stands on a side of a hill, overlooking the Caribbean Sea and back dropped by the Sierra Maestra mountains, about 70 km from Santiago de Cuba City. The beach can be found 299 steps below on a small cove of volcanic dark sands, spotted by trees offering natural shade. The sea bottom is rocky; it is advisable to use water shoes.
The lobby, pool, disco, main restaurant are at the same level, the 5th. From there you go down to the rooms and beach. Using the stairs to go to the beach instead of the elevator can be interesting; you will likely see hummingbirds flying and lazy iguanas laying around.
Using bikes to see the banana and coffee plantations, going horse riding to the waterfall, scuba diving or taking a kayak upriver can also be enjoyable.
The views from the hotel are magnificent, in fact, a reason for no few to come back. Most rooms have ocean view.
The Brisas Sierra Mar is a good bet for a low budget All Inclusive, safe and enjoyable Cuba vacation.
