Hotel Authentique Caballeriza is a hotel of only 21 rooms located in Holguín’s historical center which occupies a house from 1810 that has been beautifully restored and tastefully furnished and decorated.
As a typical colonial house of the upper classes of the XIX century, there’s an inner courtyard, lovely and perfect for enjoying a drink or delicious Cuban coffee, and most rooms are spread among the 2nd and 3rd floors. On the ground floor there is also the reception and bar-restaurant area where breakfast is offered every morning.
The hotel’s name comes from its own history, since the owner of the original house turned it into stables (Caballeriza means stables in Spanish) and it was this very past of the house which inspired its décor.
This is the kind of hotel known as “boutique” or “hotel de charme”, as the French call this type of accommodation, generally with not many rooms but lot of character.
