Hotel Cubanacán América has a great location in the very heart of the city of Santa Clara, in front of the park Leoncio Vidal, very near the city's downtown and only a short taxi ride from the Che Guevara Monument.
Being so close to everything there is to see it is ideal for exploring the city, especially at nights, when one can go for a pleasant evening stroll or visit the nearby Casa de la Cultura, featuring live bands playing traditional Cuban Music almost every night.
The hotel has been recently renovated and therefore it offers modern facilities and nicely decorated common areas, such as the well-designed dining room, the inviting bar and swimming pool, the latter large enough to really swim in.
Its 27 rooms are nicely appointed, clean and featuring good facilities although some are pretty small and a few have no windows, which make them fairly dark.
The staff is friendly and helpful and food is not bad, but there are many restaurants and paladars (private restaurants) within walking distance.
A couple of things to consider: The hotel has no elevator so you might want to choose a lower floor if you have any mobility issues (porters will help with the bags), and if noise is a problem better to ask for a room far from the disco, since it can be loud until late at night.
