The Recreational Cultural Complex is located in a building with modern architecture and consists of two rooms, the largest room is named after the Spanish-Cuban writer Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, and the smallest one is named after the Cuban actor Francisco Covarrubias, both endowed of modern technology in both lighting and sound and excellent acoustics.
In addition, in its lobbies there are two Art Galleries: The "René Portocarrero" gallery and the "Avellaneda" gallery and in its gardens a wide collection of sculptures and murals by important visual artists such as Rita Longa, Alfredo Lozano, Roberto Estopiñán, René Portocarrero , Tomas Oliva, and Raúl Martínez.
Library, newspaper library, photo library, files and special materials can be found in this facility, next to the popular nightclub Café Cantante.
