A paladar or private run restaurant. The place possesses a singular charm imparted by its excellent creole cooking that possesses a certain European air according to its patrons, and by the quaint décor allusive at all times to the past journalistic of the property that houses the restaurant: a grand colonial house dating from the mid XIX century that until the mid XX century hosted in its facilities one of the most influential newspapers of Trinidad society: “El Liberal”.
The European touch of its gastronomic service comes by way of a link to Europe forged over time by the sons of the couple who own the establishment. One of the sons had married an Irish woman and this provided him with some of the codes of European gastronomy.
