Located in the Revolution Square that also bears the name of the Argentinean–Cuban guerrilla, it constitutes the principal and largest public square in the city of Santa Clara.
The statuary complex embellishing the site is where, since 1997, lie the mortal remains of Che Guevara along with those of most of the comrades that accompanied him on his guerrilla adventure to Bolivia halfway through the 60s decade of the past century, where he met his death.
