The museum facility was founded in 1981 after a period in which the property was subjected to an extensive renovation. In its exhibit halls one can absorb details of the evolution and development of Sancti Spiritus society throughout the centuries thanks to its collections of Decorative Arts, Documents, Arms, Archaeology, Numismatics, Sports, non-religious Ethnology, Architecture, Painting, Drawing, Publications and Furnishings.
