At just 20 kilometers from the city center of Santiago de Cuba one finds this vast area of around 85 thousand hectares gathering within it a peerless wealth of flora and fauna that made it worthy of the condition of Biosphere Reserve bestowed by Unesco.
Among its multiple attractions stands out the Prehistoric Park, where the visitor can behold life-sized replicas of dinosaurs crafted in cement as exposed in an expansive valley.
Just as interesting might be a visit to the museum of land transportation where they exhibit dozens of classic cars of bygone days, some of which belonged to important figures of the former Havana society.
