Within the cemetery of Santa Efigenia rises this beautiful mausoleum where the remains of José Martí, National Hero of Cuba, were laid to rest.

It was inaugurated in 1951 and built from concrete and quarry marble reaching a height of more than 23 meters. Worthy of note is the guard of honor kept around the monument, which is performed daily with flawless martial rigor.
