It is a protected area of the municipality of Najasa in the province of Camagüey that can be explored on foot, by jeep or on horseback. You can go on excursions through the reserve and there are two guided walks: the Santa Gertrudis Trail and the Bird Trail where you can learn about the fauna and flora of the area.
Blue herons, hawks, tomeguín de la tierra, loggerhead doves, tomeguín del pinar, sijú banana, churroso woodpecker, long-tailed hawk, quail, "zunzunes" and unique species such as the Cuban parakeet and the royal pitirre can be found in this fascinating tour, in addition to the forest with fossilized logs more than three million years old.
