One of the most tranquil spots in the city of Las Tunas. With its tall trees and flowering shrubs, this is a favorite stomping ground of Las Tunas citizens thanks to the numerous benches at hand on which to chill out and get some fresh air.
In colonial times, the people of Tunas called the spot Plaza de Cristina in honor of the Spanish queen of the same name, and so it was until the year 1947 when the sculpture paying homage to Cuban hero Antonio Maceo was unveiled and the park took the name of the independence leader.
