The Museum was inaugurated on February 4, 1988. It is located in a building built between 1925 and 1929, representative of the eclectic style.
Through its five exhibition rooms: Aboriginal Archeology, History room, Natural History room, another dedicated to late-century Art and one for temporary exhibitions, it is in charge of preserving and promoting elements related to history and other themes of the Puerto Padre town treasuring more than two thousand museum exponents, where many of them belonged to the historian Fernando García.
