The main of the city's theaters was inaugurated on November 15, 1947 as the Rivera Theater and is today the Tunas Theater, the most important of its cultural institutions. It is the headquarters of political activities, music, dance and the scenic arts. It has a thousand lunettes, distributed over two floors where important figures of Cuban and international culture have paraded and also on its third floor the "Tomás Gutiérrez Alea" Room was created for cinematographic exhibitions.
