Las Mamparas is a family restaurant situated across from the Paseo del Prado and a few steps away from the Cienfuegos malecón or seawall, set in the interior of a large colonial style house. It presents varied and exquisite offers ranging from international cuisine fare to traditional dishes from Cuban creole cooking, among which one should note those relating to fish and shellfish, including “their many Paella options”: the true specialty of the house.
The site proposes consumption variants such as “à la carte” or “table d’hôte”, the latter consisting of a plate offering a meat specialty accompanied by a variety of rice, vegetable salad and a more than fair helping of fried starchy tubers.
None of the rooms have air conditioning, an aspect that the owners have tried to compensate for by installing a sizeable amount of fans charged with supplying the place with extra fresh air.
The owners’ motto reads: “Come in as a client and come back as family”
