The Hotel Ambos Mundos is a 6-story eclectic-style building, built in 1925 and located in the very heart of the Historic Center of Old Havana.

In addition to its privileged location, to explore the main attractions of Old Havana on foot, the hotel takes pride in having hosted the American writer Ernest Hemingway, who said "it is a good place to write." In his favorite room, 511, several of his famous novels were written.

This room, where the Nobel Prize for Literature was housed during the 30s of the 20th century, is currently preserved as a small museum that treasure several of his belongings.

The 52 rooms are modest but pleasant, decorated in brown and green colors. Those with windows or balconies facing the street, offer charming views of Old Havana, these are more bustling, so if you prefer quietness, it is suggested to choose the ones that face the inner patio.

The lobby is very lively since it is always full of visitors and there is usually a pianist playing.

Another of its charms is the original Otis elevator still functioning and taking visitors and guests to Hemingway's room on the 5th floor and to the roof terrace, which is probably the best place in the hotel, for its atmosphere, the impressive views, exquisite grilled food and bar service.

Being an old hotel in Old Havana, some inconveniences may arise, especially the flow of water at certain times.

Not deluxe, but a nice hotel which main advantage is its location, near everything worth seing in Old Havana.
